77%: Percentage of People Say The Economy Is Getting Worse

When will the bad news stop? We spotted this today:

“The mood of U.S. consumers badly soured over the past month. That might have had more to do with the recent debt ceiling fiasco than a weakening economy.

For the three days ended Thursday, an average of 77% of respondents to a daily Gallup survey said they thought economic conditions were worsening. That was up from 65% at the end of June and near the highest level since early 2009, when the recession was raging.”
