Corn Stocks Hit 15 Year Low
August 24, 2011 11:47 pmWe spotted this today:
“America’s corn (maize) stocks are at their lowest for 15 years and 45% lower than last year, according to the US Department of Agriculture. The agency has lowered its forecast for 2011-12 by 4m tonnes, or 18%, and its stock-to-use ratio to 5.4%, nearly a record low
Next season, for the first time, more corn could be used to make ethanol than to provide animal feed. That may force livestock and poultry farmers to produce less.”
