Google Plus: Two out of Three Users Are Male

July 17, 2011 3:06 pm

We have written about Google Plus Statistics before. We spotted this today:

“My surname-based random sampling has shown a very different number. For the first time, I’m publishing it here:

7/4 77% Male, 23% Female
7/7 68.4% Male, 31.6% Female (after the user base had almost doubled)
7/14 66.4% Male, 33.6% Female

Google+ is quickly turning pink.”

  1. Interesting article. Many words have been expended covering user demographics on Google Plus, mostly regarding whether or not the newborn social network is dominated by men. We created a visualization detailing the demographics of a sample of the userbase – you can access it here: http://bimeanalytics.com/blog/google-statistics-dashboard-an-overall-snapshot-of-the-google-userbase/
