Google’s Sales And Marketing Expense: 1.1 Billion Dollars In Q1

Here is one stat we spotted from Google’s Q1 results –

“In Q1 2006, Google spent $191 million on sales and marketing. In Q1 2010, that number was $607 million. In Q1 2011, that number skyrocketed to $1.03 billion –that’s a shocking increase of 69% in just one year.”

How do we digest that number? Try this – its 16.8 percent of its revenue of 6.54 Billion (revenue after commissions to partners)
