India vs US Inflation Comparison Chart

This is something we had been wanting to do for some time now – just to get an idea of how inflation numbers look in India compared to the US. We pulled out these numbers from IMF, and we have made no approximations whatsoever. Two points to note:

1. The inflation that is being plotted is basically the percent change of average consumer prices (not end of period consumer prices).
2. 2012 data for both India and US are IMF staff estimates.

  1. The comparison is good. They should also compare with the purchasing power of the people and the standard of life in both the countries.
