Kindle Statistics: Loss Numbers For Amazon’s New Kindle Line-Up

This has been reported all across the tubes – that Amazon is selling its new Kindle products at a loss. We went looking for some stats around that, and here is the summary:

1. It costs Amazon $84.25 to make the 79 Dollar Kindle. However, this model would be ad supported.
2. The non-ad-supported version of the same device will be priced at $109
3. On the Kindle Fire, Amazon will make a loss of 10 dollars per device – it costs Amazon 209.63 USDs to make the device. It will sell for 199 USDs.
