Mobile Statistics: Samsung Is Now The World’s Largest Cellphone Maker

Well, as the world becomes increasingly ‘smart’ – we must have seen this coming – Samsung displaced Nokia as the world’s largest cellphone maker by number of units shipped in 2012. Samsung is expected to account for 29 percent of worldwide cellphone shipments, up from 24 percent in 2011. Nokia’s share this year will drop to 24 percent, down from 30 percent last year (Source)

Apple has a 10 percent marketshare, and is the third largest cellphone maker in the world. But we already know where Apple would win: profits.
