Obviously, the business case for Pinterest depends heavily on this strange thing called purchasing intent, which requires purchasing inspiration in the first place. We had spotted some Pinterest stats in the past in this same area that was not so inspiring, but today we spotted a stat (Source) that essentially shows that Pinterest scores over FB in this area called Purchasing Inspiration.

Make no mistake, this game is based on converting users to buyers. And all the lucrative pieces of the social puzzle would have multiple players competing for the coveted prize. What happens when people like stuff on Facebook but buy it via one of these players?
