Stunning: One In Four American Neighborhoods Use Nextdoor

Facebook better watch out. We spotted this stat today, that the private social network for neighborhoods, Nextdoor, has reached some 40,000 neighborhoods – that is some 25 percent of ALL neighborhoods in the US.”When The Verge first reported on Nextdoor back in July of 2012, it was in 3,500 neighborhoods. Today, the company is announcing that its reached 40,000 neighborhoods, or roughly one in four American communities, with 10 or more active users.” (Source)

The rise of private social networks such as Nextdoor could actually be a good thing for neighborhoods – as mentioned in the source, updates good or bad an be shared without concerns about drop in property values.
