The Worst Performing Asian Currency In 2011: Indian Rupee

“The Indian Rupee is the worst performer amongst Asian currencies, and third worst performer in global currencies. The rupee is down due to global factors and also domestic factors like rising oil import payments as India imports more that three-fourth of its oil requirements. Also slowing exports, huge trade deficit , high inflation have put pressure. The foreign investors have bought just $800 mln dof Indian stocks in 2011, as compared to $29 billion invested in 2010.”
