Twitter Statistics: 170 Billion Tweets So Far, Half-A-Billion Tweets Per Day

Twitter statistics continue their uptrend – Twitter is fast becoming the heartbeat of the world. What a great position to be in!

Twitter statistics have always been interesting – for example, we had spotted the most tweeted event in the history of Twitter, and the world’s most tweeting city. We spotted this interesting stat today, that the Library of Congress would collect all ongoing tweets, and also work on archiving all the tweets sent out so far – about 170 billion tweets (Source).

Remember, instant messages – in all forms are the rage now. Whatsapp for example handled a whopping 18 billion messages on 31 Dec 2012. And we are all waiting for a Google Glass world, where ‘you can see what I can see’ will be the norm. We can’t wait.
