Unemployment Statistics: Greek Unemployment Hits 15 Percent

We spotted this significant statistic today – unemployment in Greece hits the much dreaded 15 percent number –

“The Greek Statistics Authority said in figures released Thursday that the jobless rate in January reached 15.1 percent, from 14.8 the previous month. The total number of Greeks out of work was recorded at 756,795.

It is the highest level of unemployment recorded since the statistics agency was placed in change of issuing jobless figures in 2004.”

    GDP (real growth rate) of Greece is -4.8% (2010 est.) and it’s worst 5th in the world. I hope they recover soon..
