US Manufacturing Statistics: 28.5 Percent of GDP Comes From US Made Goods

We spotted this today:

“One way to get the broader view is to look at the breakdown of gross domestic product by product type. Based on sales and inventory figures, the Commerce Department says goods — a category that includes agricultural and mining products, but is largely manufactured items — accounted for 28.5% of the U.S. economy in the first quarter. That is down from 50 years earlier, when it was 41.9%, but it’s still significant.”
