World Food Prices: 7.0 Percent Cheaper In 2012 Compared To 2011

This is a number we need to track more closely – this is basically a proxy for food inflation worldwide – the UN’s FAO (Food and Agriculture Association) publishes a Food Price Index that tracks international prices for essential food items. We spotted this stat today, that the index for 2012 as a whole averaged 212 points, 7 percent less than the average in 2011 (Source)
