2012 Smartphone Statistics: Samsung Tops China For The First Time

Samsung sold some 30 million plus smartphones in China in 2012. Well that might not be the most important stat we spotted in that context - Samsung is now the top smartphone seller in China, with a 17 plus percentage market share - quite an achievement for a company that only started selling smartphones in China in 2009 (Source)

So we have another 'millions' stat coming out - how do we digest this stat? I think this one is easy - we know that between Apple and Samsung, some 98 percent plus profits of the smartphone market worldwide is shared. This is an indication of who the other players are - in China, that would be Lenovo, Huawei and others.
