Google Plus Statistics: 135 Million Active Users, 500 Million Profiles Created

Today we spotted some encouraging stats on Google Plus - some 135 million users login and use the site atleast once in a month, and a total of 500 million profiles have been created so far (Source). Some 235 million people have used atleast one feature.

This is our reading on Google Plus: there is a group of nerds that it appeals to, and they are regular users. For others, as John Battelle asked Vic Gundotra, Google might be better off providing a login via facebook button.
