Gaming Spending On iOS, Android Surpass Dedicated Gaming Handhelds

Q4 2012 had another surprise, and this could only be deduced by a combined effort from IDC and AppAnnie - we spotted this stat today, that gaming spending on iOS and Android platforms (excluding the money made by games from advertising - includes only the amount spent by the customer) surpassed the spending on dedicated gaming handhelds (Report)

As the report says, two points need to be noted:

1. Dedicated handhelds combine Nintendo & Sony packaged & digital game spending
2. All ad revenue excluded
